THE PROCESS

Blemkleen specialise in refurbishing metal components, particularly scaffold couplings. The three stage refurbishment process developed over several years thoroughly cleans metal components, improves their corrosion resistance and ensures a high standard of finish with all parts in excellent order.

STAGE 1 AUTOMATIC BLAST CLEANING

The first stage removes all scale, rust and carbonised deposits, to ensure a totally clean metal surface prior to coating. This is carried out using an endless belt blast cleaning machine, thus eliminating the use of acids and corrosive materials. The process is fully automatic, fast and efficient, enabling a vast reduction in cost over normal cleaning methods.

STAGE 2 ANTI-CORROSIVE COATING

On completion of the blast cleaning the components are loaded into cage containers and thoroughly immersed in a special anti-corrosion coating fluid.

The coating, developed by experts in the field of anti-corrosion, gives the components a fast drying anti-rust coating to improve and prolong the usable life of the component.

Once the protective coating has dried the components are passed for the final finishing stage.

STAGE 3 HAND FINISHING

Finishing and quality control are carried out by our highly trained workforce. All moving parts are freed, checked and lubricated. Each coupling is individually checked to ensure it is in full working order and top quality condition.
